Guide Guides Hike for Plenty

Watch for Girl Guides collecting food donations door to door in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank (March 13, 2010). Please see the locations for drop off of donations.

Join Active Edmonton for an hour of yoga at Edmonton City Hall in the City Room on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from noon to 1 p.m. A non-perishable food donation for Edmonton’s Food Bank is welcome.

The Edmonton Collectible Toy and Comic Show

The Edmonton Collectible Toy and Comic Show is on Saturday, March 28, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Hall A at the Shaw Conference Centre (9797 Jasper Avenue). The show is Western Canada’s premier collectibles event specializing in bringing attending enthusiasts the largest selection of vintage and modern toys, comic books, anime, video games, and pop culture memorabilia. With nearly 200 vendors, artists, industry professionals and special guests from across North America in attendance, the Edmonton Collectible Toy and Comic Show is sure to offer something for everyone; from the casual and serious collectors to families looking for an afternoon of fun!

Boardwalk Rental Communities Stuff a Suite

During March, Boardwalk Rental Communities and all its tenants are supporting Edmonton’s Food Bank by donating non-perishable food items. The event will end on Friday, March 26, 2010, when Boardwalk will Stuff a Suite in one of their rental properties with all the collected food.

Lambda Chi Alpha Food Drive

The annual Lambda Chi Alpha Food Drive is being held Saturday, March 27, 2010 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the Garneau area of Edmonton.

Extra Helping Campaign

All City of Edmonton’s Real Canadian Superstores and The Real Canadian Wholesale Clubs will be collecting food and monetary donations to support Edmonton’s Food Bank and the Alberta Food Bank Network Association between March 20 and April 9, 2010. This is a nation-wide initiative to support local food banks and provincial associations across Canada and is being coordinated by Loblaws and Food Bank Canada.

Donations can be made at any one of the following stores:

Real Canadian Superstores: 9711 – 23 Avenue, 4950 – 137 Avenue, 4821 Calgary Trail,
12350 – 137 Avenue, and 17303 Stony Plain Road
And Real Canadian Wholesale Clubs: 14740 – 111 Avenue and 6904 – 99 Street.

Fill a Monster Truck

Edmonton RUSH is going to fill a monster truck with non-perishable food donations at Rexall Place on Friday, April 9, 2010. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the Edmonton RUSH game begins at 7 p.m. Please see the poster for details.

Food for All Seasons Spring Gala

Join Edmonton’s Food Bank on April 15, 2010 at the Sutton Place Hotel for the Food for All Seasons Gala. The theme is Taste of the Orient and Cary Williams, one of Avenue Edmonton’s 2009 Top 40 Under 40 winners, is the guest speaker. Josh Classen of CTV Edmonton is the MC.

Earth Day

On Sunday, April 18, 2010, Food Bank volunteers will be collecting food and monetary donations during Earth Day in the Blatchford Hanger at Fort Edmonton Park from noon to 6 p.m. Free admission. Come by our booth for information about the Food Bank’s gardening initiative, Plant A Row Grow A Row.
